Aster necklace | Louis Vuitton
Louis Vuitton has unveiled its most ambitious high jewelry creation to date — the Aster necklace, a bespoke piece built around one of the rarest gemstone suites in the world.
Exceptional Kashmir Sapphires
The centerpiece is a 17.88-carat untreated Kashmir sapphire, prized for its rich, velvety blue. It is surrounded by 22 additional sapphires from the same origin, bringing the total weight above 125 carats. Assembled over more than two decades, this suite of Kashmir sapphires is among the finest ever curated for a single piece of jewelry.
Design and Craftsmanship
The necklace integrates the sapphires into a graduated platinum setting, enhanced with Louis Vuitton’s signature Monogram star-cut diamonds. The open platinum framework was engineered to create flexibility, allowing the necklace to rest naturally on the body while maintaining structural precision.
Time and Expertise
Realized under the direction of Francesca Amfitheatrof, Louis Vuitton’s artistic director for jewelry and watches, the piece required more than 1,500 hours of work by the maison’s Place Vendôme atelier. Every stage — from gem matching to setting and finishing — was executed to the highest technical standards.
The Aster necklace establishes a benchmark for Louis Vuitton’s high jewelry division. It demonstrates both the maison’s ability to source the rarest gemstones and its growing position in the top tier of contemporary high jewelry.
