Located within the historic Turner Morrison and Voltas buildings, the store represents the French retailer’s first step into the Indian market — a collaboration with Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail Ltd. Designed to reflect both heritage and modernity, the space combines the grandeur of Haussmann-style interiors with the dynamism of Mumbai’s cosmopolitan culture. More than a department store, it stands as a bridge between two worlds of creativity and craftsmanship.
The launch was celebrated with an exclusive preview event titled “Paris Meets Mumbai”, offering guests a glimpse into the maison’s universe ahead of the official inauguration. The event highlighted the architecture, curation, and cultural fusion that define this new space — a tribute to French artistry expressed through an Indian lens.

With this milestone, Galeries Lafayette strengthens its international presence while continuing its mission to share l’Art de Vivre à la française beyond borders. The Mumbai flagship embodies that philosophy — an encounter between French refinement and India’s energetic spirit, setting the stage for a new era of luxury retail in South Asia.
