Unveiled against the dramatic sandstone cliffs of AlUla, Rami Kadi’s Spring/Summer 2024 couture collection, “Les Miroirs,” was a shimmering dialogue between heritage and innovation. Presented in collaboration with the Royal Commission for AlUla, the designer drew inspiration from Maraya—the world’s largest mirrored building—and the region’s ancient rock inscriptions, transforming reflections of light and memory into couture.

The collection featured thirty-two gowns, each exploring the interplay of transparency, shimmer, and sculptural form. Mirrored shards, holographic glass, and sequined embroidery refracted light as models walked the desert runway, echoing the brilliance of Maraya and the surrounding cliffs. The effect was otherworldly: gowns seemed to glow from within, shifting with each movement as if alive with desert sun and shadow.

Silhouettes ranged from fluid, body-skimming dresses to architectural pieces punctuated by sculptural ruffles and crystalline surfaces. Soft pastel hues merged with metallic tones, while floral motifs and hand-embroidered inscriptions paid homage to AlUla’s history. The designer balanced fragility and strength, layering sheer fabrics with bold, reflective textures that captured both delicacy and power.

Beyond its technical mastery, “Les Miroirs” was a statement of place. By staging the show in AlUla’s desert heart, Rami Kadi anchored his vision within a landscape of timeless grandeur, where modern couture meets cultural storytelling. The mirrored surfaces symbolized both self-reflection and continuity—reminders of how history and identity refract through time.

In the heart of the desert, Rami Kadi captured the poetry of light and reflection. “Les Miroirs” stood as a rare moment where fashion, place, and imagination converged—an unforgettable tribute to beauty shaped by both nature and craft.
