1, Place Vendôme | Chopard’s Parisian Residence

At the heart of Paris, on the storied Place Vendôme, stands a discreet address that belongs not to a hotel chain, but to a jewelry maison. In 2014, Chopard acquired the Hôtel de Vendôme and transformed it into 1, Place Vendôme — a private residence-style hotel where heritage and modern refinement coexist.

The building itself dates back to 1723, with façades designed by Hardouin-Mansart, architect of Versailles. Over centuries, it has welcomed aristocrats, artists, and travelers drawn to the quiet elegance of Place Vendôme. Chopard’s intervention was not to erase, but to restore: reducing the number of rooms from dozens to just fifteen, creating generous suites where light, art, and craftsmanship define the atmosphere.

Unlike larger Parisian hotels, 1, Place Vendôme is intentionally private. There is no bustling lobby, no public restaurant. Instead, the experience is tailored — dining where and when one wishes, salons reserved for reading or conversation, a cigar lounge, and a winter garden that feels like a personal retreat in the center of the city.

For Chopard, the ownership is symbolic. This is the maison’s “family home” in Paris — a place where guests are received with discretion, surrounded by the same spirit of artistry that defines its jewelry and watchmaking. To stay here is not only to book a suite, but to inhabit a chapter of Parisian history, shaped by one of Switzerland’s most respected maisons.

While 1, Place Vendôme is not a hotel in the conventional sense, several luxury media sources have reported indicative nightly rates beginning around €1,400 for a standard room, excluding breakfast. At the upper tier, the Appartement Chopard—the residence’s most exclusive suite—has been cited in press coverage as commanding some of the highest prices in Paris. These figures are not so much about exact rates as they are about positioning: Chopard’s Parisian residence is deliberately set apart as an experience of rarity and heritage, reserved for those who value discretion and cultural gravitas as much as luxury itself.
Reservations can be made directly through the hotel’s official website.
